Hello, my name is Levi Hebeisen and I am a Guitarist and Singer/Songwriter. My teaching style is all about creativity, originality, and thinking outside of all boxes and boundaries. Growing up and being taught music and theory I often got frustrated being forced to do things by the book. If something sounds better playing it a little different then what’s on the page, then why not express the music how you want. Music isn’t something you learn, it’s something all people do and have inside of themselves. What we’re here for is just to help coax it out of you.

Bio

Levi Hebeisen has been surrounded by music all of his life, from his mother having her doctorate in piano performance, to his two older sisters being classically trained in violin and voice, to his father’s extensive knowledge of all of the masterpiece albums from the 80s and 90s. Levi started out playing piano in his youth, but quickly shifted over to classical guitar under the tutelage of first Hannah Vo-Dinh, followed by now Peabody instructor, Franco Platino, who was at Levine Music School at the time. Levi was also a member of Levine’s Youth Ensemble for a time and went on to compete on multiple occasions. When he was 13, he formed his first band “Bottlefield” with classmates of his, which opened his eyes to the world of songwriting. Years past, and, in December 2019, Levi broke his left hand in a car accident resulting in a surgery to regain mobility, rendering him unable to play guitar for a while. With Covid following shortly after that, he ceased taking classical lessons and dove fully into songwriting. Over the past few years, Levi has released music and worked with many local bands and artists including Blue Cadet, Gabrielle Zwi, and his current project, Alaska’s Angels. He has performed at many notable venues and festivals, up and down the East coast including Fenway Park in Boston, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, Jammin Java in Vienna, VA, The Hart Bar in Brooklyn, NY, and Songbyrd Music House in DC. In addition to that, he also worked at Bach 2 Rock Music and Arts School in 2023, teaching young students, coaching bands, and running summer programs. Levi also owns and operates his own DIY venue, “The Garage” located in Boyds, MD with his partner, Grace Cotting. On the rare occasions Levi is not working on music in one way or another, you can probably find him out hiking somewhere in the woods or mountains with his two dogs. Specific locations of the hikes will not be shared due to his privacy and not wanting other people around him.
