Mission

To nurture students’ ability to listen and communicate and to provide a community in which musical stories are told.

Who We Are

Stories are vital. They can bring comfort, elicit joy, express heartbreak. They can share truths, provide context, or evoke delight. Most importantly, stories bring together, connect, and create community.

Honey Acres Music Center wishes to create an environment where stories are told through music. We offer private music lessons, group chamber music and band coachings, and performance opportunities to give students the tools they need to both express themselves and listen to others. We meet students of all ages and levels where they are, and aim to nurture growth in confidence, ease, mastery, foundational technique, and creativity. We guide our students to communicate meaningfully, clearly, and kindly with their music. Most of all, we strive to teach our students to listen openly, critically, and imaginatively.

What We Offer:

Studios | Concerts

Studios

Private Lessons:  We offer lessons in violin, voice, piano, guitar, and songwriting to people of all ages and skill levels. We help our students grow in their technical facility and interpretive skills so they can play expressively and with ease.

(Send us and email if you are interested in private lessons, but we don't currently offer the instrument you are looking for. If we get enough requests for a specific instrument, we'll hire another teacher!)

Chamber Music Coaching: Chamber Music consists of a group of 2-8 musicians playing together without a conductor. These chamber music coachings and workshops will teach students how to play with others and communicate effectively and thoughtfully with their chamber music partners to create a group interpretation of the music they are performing.

Songwriting/Band Coachings: Bands and individuals are invited to work with Levi Hebeisen, the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter of Alaska’s Angels (on Instagram @alaskas.angels42).

Workshops, Classes, and Camps: These 1-7 day events will give students an opportunity to take a deep dive into musical topics, including chamber music, scales and etudes, audition preparation, songwriting, improvisation, rhythm, theory, and performance strategies. Upcoming events and registration information will be listed on the website. (We are always happy to receive suggestions for workshop topics.)

Concerts

Concert Venue: Through our concert series and student performances, we hope to create a community of listeners where musical ideas and stories can be shared and explored.

(In one of our concert spaces, we have a newly rebuilt Steinway Model B piano from 1906.)
